Dr Carter is a clinician-researcher with a focus on the patient relevance and consistency of trial-based evidence in glomerular disease. He completed a two-year fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, and is completing a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology and PhD through the University of Sydney. He was funded by a National Health and Medical Research Council scholarship to co-ordinate the Standardised Outcomes in Nephrology – Glomerular Disease (SONG-GD) initiative, which is establishing a core outcome set for trials in glomerular disease. Dr Carter serves on the Australasian Kidney Trials Network scientific committee and glomerulonephritis working group.
